Tapered roller bearings are the bearings which may take large axial forces along with having the ability to support large radial forces.

Tapered roller bearing contains an inner ring (cone), an outer ring (cup), a cage and rollers that are profiled to deliver the load consistently. High-carbon grades of steel do not demand carburizing and may be case-hardened by induction heating or thorough-hardened by traditional heating methods. When low-carbon, carburized grades of steel are utilized, carbon is introduced as soon as the taper roller bearings are machined to a depth sufficient to make a hardened case which can support bearing loads.
