A new whitepaper from linear motion solution provider PBC Linear examines the viability of two different plane bearing technologies (PBC Linear Simplicity and Igus DryLin) in relation to bearing life and material performance.
The technical article focuses on both products’ design and composition as well as their operation within a uniform application to see which one comes out on top.
Combining months of application research and experiments with years of recorded data on each technology, the newly released whitepaper, “PBC Linear’s Simplicity Bearing vs. Igus’s DryLin Bearing,” gives a final resolution to which product lasts longer and costs less overall. IT also compares the products on wear rate, PV value and safety factor to provide the reader with a complete breakdown on both bearings.
Divided into two sections, the whitepaper examines both tribological differences and how each technology performs in an application. The results showed that one technology saves significantly more in replacement costs and lasts up to three times as long.
