The Boca Bearing Company is one of the suppliers for the Children’s Science Explorium at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton. Several different types of bearings are displayed in the Ball Bearing exhibit explaining and giving children hands-on experience. Examples of bearings used in their everyday life are shown, such as skates, motors, and even Lazy Susans. A large Wishing Well like you may have seen in a shopping mall collecting coins has been converted to demonstrate Kepler’s Law of Orbital Mechanics. The gravity well allows children to roll ball bearings of two different densities and observe their parabolic orbits and compare their decay.
